Information for Law Enforcement

Retro is operated by Lone Palm Labs Inc. This page explains how law enforcement officials can submit legal process to Retro and what each request should include.

Retro does not currently have a law enforcement portal.

Where to Send Requests

We accept preservation requests, search warrants, subpoenas, court orders, and other law enforcement legal process electronically at [email protected].

Requests should be addressed to Lone Palm Labs Inc. and submitted to that address as a signed, non-editable PDF.

What to Include

Please include the following in every request:

  • The issuing agency's name and address

  • The requesting officer's name, badge or ID number, official email address, and direct telephone number

  • The applicable case or investigation number

  • Sufficient information to identify the relevant Retro account, such as its username, account email address, and/or telephone number

  • The specific records and date range requested and their relationship to the investigation

Requests that do not include this information may be delayed while we seek clarification.

Preservation Requests

In accordance with 18 U.S.C. § 2703(f), we will preserve available records for 90 days upon receipt of a valid preservation request, and for an additional 90 days upon receipt of a renewed request.

A preservation request preserves existing records but does not authorize their disclosure. Disclosure requires separate, valid legal process.

Disclosure of User Information

We disclose non-public user information only in response to valid and legally sufficient legal process.
